I agree... People tend to eliminate carbs and just eat protein in the hopes that they'll loose weight. Yes you will, but not in a healthy way. Your body needs carbs to survive, so the smart thing is to eliminate bad ones and replace them with good ones such as your fruits and veggies. I do that and eat lots of them! The vitamins and minerals you intake will give you more energy, you'll feel healier, and with proper exercise you'll also loose fat quicker and gain raw muscle. When it comes to protein, James is definately right in that you should eat all types of proteins. Mix it up!
